Discussion thread for Wood Photo Challenge

There are already some fantastic images being put up. I think this week might be as good as the rust one was.

It's great to see the diversity, and interpretation of the theme emerging now.

Inside, outside, still life, Old, new.

Solutions, did you take your photo today, for the challenge thread, or did you have the apple and bird reflection picture saved?

that one was saved.  sold it a while back here on ebay for over $200.00.  it just burst into life when i put marveer oil on it.  that's not made anymore.  i have a tiny reserve i guard jealously.  the apple was for perspective.  some of the teak birds sold on ebay are small to medium.  this one was a considerable size.

LOL... you took that great photo, to sell the bird? When I first read your post, I thought you sold the picture for $200. The oil was my first clue that wasn't the case. You have a very good relationship with your camera. I need to introduce myself to my camera. This board has actually given me a push to learn more about my mystery camera. The one with the bells and whistles...

Thanks, Kelso. I actually had three other ideas in mind. I didn't know that I was supposed to send a message to pimpy, so I posted a different idea on the winner thread. I'm glad I changed it to Wood. So far, I'm loving all of the contributions.

pssssst I am Pimpy, ๐Ÿ™‚  just doing some ebay stuff and forgot to change dresses

i put a lot of effort into setting up my listing pics and enjoy every second of it.  i have a cheap little $300 camera and very little tech knowledge.  i'd love to invest $1000 in a better camera like a canon with a big lense and power pack that will last me a few years instead of a few minutes like the frustrating camera i have now.  then i'd like to spend a week on youtube figuring it out.

I think 'wood' is great theme. Top choice TCM. Everyone will have something wooden in their homes or gardens etc.

Flsahie, that cemetery through the fence. Where is it? I know you've put up photos from the same cemetery before and it looks like the most beautiful spot.

It is just outside of New Norfolk..............Lawitta ...........but most call it Back river Cemetery.

One side of my ancestors are buried there.

It's so picturesque. The way the hills roll down in to the valley is just so lovely. I could live there and never get tired of that view

LOL, bob

Solutions, I see you changed your name.

I'm using a cheap camera also. My bil got me a good camera 3 years ago(b'day present), and I need to spend a lot of time figuring it out. Pod got me to take the darn thing out of the camera bag. I will spend the next several months trying to figure out how to use it.

"solutions-plus-r-us" started off as a joke 'cause it was everywhere.  i was gonna ad "unlimited" to the end of it but decided it would be a drainer to type every time i log in.  the new name suits what i'm selling.  you may call me agora ๐Ÿ™‚

i don't know most of the functions camera and it's basic.

I'm going to do the axe, wood chop thing. Just as soon as it warms up a bit more. Only 13 degrees outside atm

Agora, what camera do you have?  If I could get my $300 camera to do that I wouldn't bother with a big fancy one.

aww Bob, they've gone *poof*.

Fakkenit, was that an english oak?  I was horrified a few days ago, to see someone has chopped down two huge oaks. Not sure if they were She Oaks or River Oaks.  They were denses and had foliage right down to the ground, probably lots of smaller trees making up the little microcosm. So many birds and animals have just been made homeless and for the life of me I can't see what purpose was served by chopping them down Smiley Sad  I had been meaning to take a photo of one for ages. It had grown so big it was smothering an old tin shed.
