Dishwashers. Which brand and why.

I think ours is about to die so it's time I did some thinking about a replacement.
Which brands would you recommend, (from personal experience. I know I can google reviews) and why.
Speed, good spot free drying, and quietness are high on my list of requirements.

Lurker, you should check your model r.e. The hot water connection.

I think the solenoid can get too heated, and the machine not last as long as it should, if you are on hot only when you should not be.

and then what? Redesign the kitchen? It's there now, it's got no choice but hot water.

We have a Bosch, seems okay but I am not thrilled with it. The short cycle is 33 minutes and the next cycle is 2 hours 20 minutes.

I would be happy with something in between as the 33. minute is often not enough.

I was told to only use powder in the short cycle as the tablets do not have time to dissolve.

No drying cycle, retained machine heat only for drying.

My old one was an Ariston. I thought it would be good Italian made quality, not Chinese rubbish. Was the worst piece of junk.
Died after 2 years and it went straight to the tip. No repairs. I was even relieved when it did die.

I will look at another top of the line dishwasher when this one carks it. I am unsure about Bosch though. Paid about $1000 for this one

If the dishwasher is meant to be connected to cold water only, when it starts up it will heat the water first.. if the water is already hot then what happens?

If a cold tap outlet is required for it a plumber could do that.. doesn't need kitchen redesign?

Yeah it does.
This is not a regular under the sink installation. It is on the opposite side of the room and the only tap available is hot.

Have you looked in the manual, lurker, to see which tap it is supposed to be connected to?

The machine will heat it up to the required temperature and continue the cycle. more economicat to just hafe the hot water turned on

Would it matter, can you over heat hot water? I wouldn't think so, poddster must know, he did say elsewhere he was on a higher plane, mr boris does all that kind of thing here or gets one of his tradey mates to do it if its illegal to do himself.Woman Happy
