Those that the local candidates place in the streets influence how you vote ??

From my bedroom window I can see 2 both  for the same candidate.

No, I don't think they do influence who I vote for. I do get sick of seeing the same old mugshots on signs, in people's front yards as you drive around.

Some people may have no idea who is their local Lib or Lab candidate so I guess signs could be helpful for letting people know who is who.

I live in a safe Liberal seat, there are more Lib signs/offices around than Labor at present.

Tony Abbott sent letters here introducing the new Lib candidate.

I didn't think they would sway anyone's opinion but visiting friends casually asked one person at the dinner who they would vote for in their electorate - she said person x. I asked why and she said "ohhh he looks nicer". There where quite a few quizzically raised eyebrows lol. The Nixon/Kennedy deabate still seems to affect today....

Some people like to get up to mischief and vandalise their opposition parties signs.. putting moustaches on them, changing the words on the sign etc, or removing the signs altogether

Someone told me those signs are great for cutting up and winding fabric onto.

No they don't, and speaking of electoral signs.

Today we have a Postal Vote Application Form from the AEC in our letter box, on the actual application form there is a full page advertisement for our local Nationals candidate, why is he permitted to advertise on an official AEC postal vote application?

We got one Postal Vote Application Form in the mail too, it came in either the letter from Tony A or the one from our local Lib candidate.

The Postal vote form has the local Lib candidates name and photo, political party, electorate on the back of it.

The letter from the local lib candidate is addressed to my daughter, it says 'did you know you have been automatically enorolled to vote in the next election?'

As we moved house recently I wondered why she was getting election mail and no-one else in the house was? Annoying also as they send it to home address when we use a PO Box for our mail.

I did fill out a post office mail redirection form when we moved house and thought they may update the electoral roll from that?

How you get automatically enrolled? and one party's candidate writes to tell you that I don't know.

(I did update my address with AEC on Sunday).
