Those that the local candidates place in the streets influence how you vote ??

From my bedroom window I can see 2 both  for the same candidate.

A bit misleading really. Some people may not intend to do a postal vote but if they receive one in the mail, may see it as an easier option and may be influenced by who sent it out.

It possibly does. It has been going on for years. The parties have been sending out postal vote applications for years and people have been complaining when they realize for years., It seems like a huge waste of money.

I like to think that  my efforts over the years have not been in vain!

I have been asked who is "Hunny"

received blank looks when explaining the relevance  between  hip-pocket-nerve and Hunny.

My absolute best reaction was a sheet of paper with cut out words glued onto it  (like a TV ransom note). The note, which was shoved under my front door, was  along the lines of that I was being watched, because of my actions,  by CAB, the Coalition Against Bears, and was signed: Bertie Bee.

I loved it, and have never discovered  to this day who was the author.

Hunny has got more going for him than some of the politicians in this country.

A3: "Hunny has got more going for him than some of the politicians in this country."

I agree A3, ( regardless of the politicians colour) and would mention this quote:

"I am a Bear of Very Little Brain, and long words Bother Me,"

Freddie..that postal voting paper mail out in our area didn't come from the AEC, it came from the NP,  to be returned to a central Sydney PO address which is NOT the AEC..

There have been recent articles in the newspapers deploring this practice and specifically naming BB in the article..........it is legal but unethical.

The mailout we received is a NP data gathering device.

I just found one of the articles which appeared in the Melbourne Age on Saturday.

In summary verbatim   ,...."BEWARE POSTAL VOTE DATA  GATHERING

People intending to lodge postal votes have been urged by the Australian Electoral Commission  to take care when filling in forms as voting material sent to the household could be a vehicle for political parties too collate their personal details. Prime Minister Kevin Rudd, Liberal up and coming Josh Frydenberg, shadow minister Bob Baldwin and backbencher Teresa Garnbaro are among many MPs who ask voters to submit postal votes to them"........and the article goes on re accessing all your personal details before they forward your postal vote request to the AEC........
