For post/thread removal? If it's removed does it automatically count as a strike leading to suspension?

You will need to contact a mod for that answer. I think you only get one if you have been very very bad.............. or if it's not a busy night.

You get a message from the Mods in your eBay messages - this usually tells you to 'be good', but a post is not necessarily removed just the offending part is 'moderated'.
Not sure about thread removal, usually a thread is locked by the mod's and only removed at the request of the member who started the thread AFAIK.

i'd be curious to know about the strike rate too.
I think everything that is removed is stored in a secret vault. I guess if we are really, really naughty or trying to appeal something they might be about to sift through vault contents and see how naughty we have been in the past.
They don't seem to send letters unless it's a really bad offense or you keep doing it after they have placed a warning in the thread.
then they kick you out and send you a letter saying your banned for umpteen trillion minutes but you can't read the letter 'cause your banned
edit: forgot to say, if the oening post is in violation of whatever rule, then the entire thread is removed.

If a post is removed and you get a message about it you have been officially sanctioned and the Mods keep a tally.....this leads to a suspension.
If a post just disappears and there is no message then you have only been a little bit bad and does not count towards a suspension unless you keep doing it.....then the Mods drag out all the "little bit bad" posts and add them up....this can lead to a suspension.
If a whole thread disappears because it has degenerated to the point of no return then only the very worst offenders get slaps.
On the trading boards at least the Mods are mostly very reasonable....there are not a huge number of posts that earn their authors a slap....mostly they just disappear.

Have to admit, they seem to understand and recognise humour a little more these days, the other lot would slap you for having a giggle with another member coz they didn't understand our (Oz) humour.

So, the mods can step in on their own or check out at the behest of a report ?
Or is it usually the Report that triggers the mods to come in to a thread do you think?
I have not had a slap in so long I am starting to feel left out or maybe I have just lost my mojo Joke

In my experience, posts are now either edited or removed. I don't get mail usually but occasionally I get one to tell me why.(Or I get one to invite me to discuss it.) Locked threads can also be removed by mods after they edit them..............................maybe there are too many to make it worth keeping?
I think mods have more power now to make their own decisions about it.
