Do you consider your husband

Your best friend.

See I don't, I can't talk to him the same way as I would talk to a woman.

He wants to fix my problems, where a woman will let you vent and understand why you are actually venting.

I don't see it as narrow minded just stating the obvious though yes some are good listeners but they are few and far between.

Bob that statement just proves the point though that men are more into solutions which is not always what we want rather we want someone to just listen without offering that.

Further to my other point in my previous post about some being good listeners I have encountered them but they're usually still either going to other a solution but not in such a typical way that most men do by being direct about it or they're the kind that are good listeners with an agenda in mind re: trying to get into some female's pants.

my partner is certainly my best friend however my partner is a woman.  we can talk about anything and are comfortable with each other complete whether that is because we are both women i don't know as i have not had a relationship with a man.  we have been together 17+ years.  i must admit though that i myself am a solutions person trying to fix things.  my parents have been married nearly 53 years and while they have a wonderful relationship i don't think my mother would say my father was her best friend.

Such is life.
