The Cafe Scheherezade was a famous icon and closed a few years ago. Thier borscht soup was to die for among other dishes. A book and a play have been written about it. It has a fascinating history.
re Kosher food ... our local Coles had a whole aisle devoted to it. The only thing I buy there in season is the Matzos which I just love.

The difference is that jewish people never demanded that Australia turn their religious belief entirely to their teachings.
Jewish people have united integraded to Australian kind of life, but still being able to persue their traditions and religious belief whithout any force to try to change our way of life or complain about our Christian society.
Most jewish people know the difference between a rigorous dictatorship with threats of livelyhood and freedom of expression and living in a diverse community with freedom and security of no threats against them.

Do you have Kosher approved products in your supermarket?

We are having a barbecue today and because many of the attendees are Jewish it is very handy to be able to buy things that are suitable.
