Do you leave your washing machine taps on?

I might need to re-think this. Water everywhere and carpets ruined. Not me, a friend who works away.

Just spent hours swooshing water out.

No, I don't leave the taps on, but we did have a rather hairy experience being flooded via the washing machine once because the installer of the new washer did something weird with the pipe connection.  When I turned it on for the first time we had a rather grand tidal wave ... Smiley Indifferent

Happily though, the installer came back immediately and reinstalled the pipes properly, then helped us mop up .. Woman LOL so all was well.

Only really use tap water during the summer, the rest of the time I use tank water    .....

Even better, I use tank water for the garden and have a brick in the toilet cistern even though it's dual flush.

We are household of two but still use less than the recommended for a household of one.

I dont have a large tank, so find it easier to leave it hooked up to the washing machine    ..... I admit I do use a fair amount of water during late Spring/Summer but it's mainly 'cause of the fruit trees and veggie gardens. Adding it up,  I still come out on top $$$ wise n taste wise as well    ..... I keep a cpl of 2 litre bottles beside the kitchen sink 'cause the hot tap takes a while to heat up, so I run the excess water into the bottles and use it for dog water or on the pot plants   ..... I keep a bucket in the shower for the same reason
