July 2013
Alcohol and other Drugs Council of Australia is writing to Prime Minister Kevin Rudd urging him to act on alcohol taxation, revisiting the issue that former PM Julia Gillard failed to address during her term.

Unfortunately both major parties accept donations from the liquor industry. In 2011,the NSW branch of the AHA gave over $860.000 in donations, most of it to the libs.

DY: "Do you think the liberal government is in bed with the alcohol industry?"
Possibly, but it would appear the bed has been kept warm by the Poor Me Gillard and Rudd Circus!
Cheers.

SWF: "Unfortunately both major parties accept donations from the liquor industry. In 2011,the NSW branch of the AHA gave over $860.000 in donations, most of it to the libs."
I do occasionally (??) doubt statements made by the concreted Cyclopians, so SWF, a reference to that would be appreciated.
This thread is basically a daily federal DY however whatever is OK.
Australian Electoral Commission August 2012
Australian Hotels Association - Federal Office $250,000.00 to Liberal Party of Australia
Nov 2011
THE NSW branch of the Australian Hotels Association gave almost $500,000 to the Coalition before the state election.
I would assert that as the areas of focus of the AHA are accommodation, food, beverages, entertainment, wagering and gaming wagering and gaming would the main areas of promotion.
Finally SWF:
"The AHA NSW Branch provides considerable financial support to the Australian Labor Party. Between 1998 and 2006, the AHA NSW Branch contributed over A$700,000 to the NSW branch of the ALP."
Hangover material??
