So I went to a lecture today that case studied how consumerism affects our ability to live simply.
Amongst other things, one thing they talked about was our inability to wear clothes (mostly those worn on our upper body) more than once. We wear and we throw in the wash straight away. Or we smell them before we determine whether to wear them at all.
This is only a relatively new phenomenon connected to the brainwashing we have been subjected to that makes us believe that body odour is always bad.
But they talked about ways of ensuring your clothes smell good in the way they used to in days gone by - clothes were folded back up in drawers with scents and re-worn an incredible amount of time before they needed laundering.
I'm thinking I might give it a go.
Do you reckon you could wear a tshirt 5 times without laundering? Or a bra for 20 days (non consecutive) without washing? Or pyjamas?

If its clean whats the point in washing it.
Undies yes of course they need to be clean everyday, bras............no, I give mine 3ish days.

But if you wear the bra for 3 days, then let it 'rest' in a drawer for a couple of days with soap smelling stuff, you will probably be able to wear for another 3 days straight, then 'rest' it again and so on.
This is exactly how the Victorians treated their clothes. And the only people that smelled were those poor enough not to be able to afford other clothes so they had little choice but to wear the same thing over and over.
I like the idea of 'resting' my clothes instead of washing them.

My clothes are dirty not smelly and the food that doesn't land on my clothes usually falls into my bra so I wash everything everytime I wear it.

when my kids were teenagers they thought that jumpers need to be washed every time you wore them - well in the tropics t-shirts are, so it figures that jumpers are wash too, right?. It used to drive me crazy. I bet they dont do it now that have been in Europe for a couple of years 😉
Underwear and sox yes every time, skirts no jeans no. T-shirts depends what season. Not a fan of washing, but I really like wearing clean and ironed clothes.

They are dirty.
I drop a lot of food and I spill a lot of coffee, I can go for hours and then without any warning my hands start jumping and jerking and after that it is dirty clothes for the rest of the day.

Ts and undies once for me. And I hardly even sweat. It's just ingrained into me. Brainwash as you might call it.
I have more of an issues with people who don't shower at night. 😮
I'm stayig well away from a chick who wears a bra 20 times....................unless she's rully hot.
