When my daughter was little she had a book about a mouse who saw a kitten trying to cross a road so she grabbed it by its tail and saved it from being run over. She told the kitten "if you run across the road you will get run over by car and end up flat as a pancake". It was my daughter's favorite book, but somehow got lost over the years. We have all of her other books.
My daughter loved it but it also really imprinted in her mind to be very careful about roads and cars. I would like to look for copy, but cannot recall what it is called. Wonder if anybody else knows it? Thanks in advance.

No, I do not think the cat had a name. I have a feeling the mouse was called Mouldy. But I am not sure. When i googled Mouldy the Mouse, I just got mouldy cheese LOL

No. It was book with more text than pictures, but the illustrations werer very nice whole page and similar to this style, if I remember correctly. Funny, that i only recall the part about the litten being saved pretty much word by word, but do not recall what happened in the rest of the book.

OK that one was illustrated by the same guy as The Cricket in Times Square by George Selden, but I am sure the book I am looking for was all in the countryside. Never mind, I just bought this one anyway. That is the danger, when I search for something I tend to buy a lot of stuff along the way. But hey, Xmas is coming....
