i started a thread and specifically asked that the posts stick to the subject in my OP and gave the reason why I asked that, of course that didn't happen.
Is it wrong to expect that a thread started for a specific purpose be kept on that topic?

no one owns the threads they start on CS .They belong to the board and are there for all users and anyone reading the boards .
wouldn't a private group be more suitable if people wanted to control the discussion ?

I'm not so sure it is Deb. Yes everyone is different, sees things differently, but that may not be acceptable in some cases. As is what happens in RL too, but we need to accept that we are different.
