Ok , Double-B driver at highway speed observes semi  and suv pulled over in medium strip (?) of highway , both of who have head lights on, subsequently not stopping in time to avoid colliding with  2 persons fighting it out on the same laneway 

An additional witness is a female who is a partner of SUV belligerent, who had remained in said vehicle 

Well is certainly tragic - truck drivers not noticing stationary hazards are having a series of disasters lately 

Q. Did the semi driver call over radio problems with a suv driver prior to the physical altercation and did the double-b driver intercept or engage in uhf communications ? 

Q. What are the standards for truck high beams lights ? My understanding is should be strong enough to enable the driver stop said vehicle in the event of an unexpected hazard on the road

A 1, no one so far has any evidence of it

A 2, no one has any evidence there was any obstruction on the second trucks side of the road until the 2 men possible fighting ended up in front of it.

you can dream up a dozen theorys but the police will investigate, come up with the best theory of what happened and that'll be that.

Rog have you ever tried to stop a truck in a split second, they may have just stepped in front of the truck, fallen in front of the truck fighting.

Some facts have been published - although not definitive in every way ie " Witnesses told police the men were fighting in the north-bound lane when they were struck by a B-double."

anyhow both semi & suv parked "encroaching" upon the northbound lane  -  the suv had hazard lights blinking ( at least when another vehicle arrived after the event)

Is not mentioned as to whether the northbound douible-b had slowed down prior to the collision

A1 - most likely correct at this time ( i will spare you the angish of my rationale for asking that question) 

A2 - I did not mentioned an obstruction (hazard)  before the collision - the obstruction ( hazard) were clearly the now deceased belligerents only

is neither here nor there , is merely discussion in a free society - more facts will be published and invalid points of conjecture discarded , no big deal 

We all live here in a free society ? I mean as a personal way of life with equal consideration although some of lofty heights might find that disturbing

The reports I saw said the B-Double driver slowed down and was proceeding to go around the other 2 vehicles. Which with their headlights on pointing at him would have severely reduced the B-Dubs vision, both acuity- and distance-wise.
