Humpty Dumpty, a talking egg?And Disney theme parks - all those people dressed up as animals?
Not to mention Fat Cat, Humphfrey B Bear and Bananas In Pyjamas?
Cinderella must be a bit of a no-no too - rodents turned into horses and coachmen and a pumpkin turned into a coach?
And what about those ordinary young who somehow morph into creatures like Spiderman, Wolverine or The Incredible Hulk?
We're talking about transvestites reading to little ones. The fact that they have been chosen for this is an indication of someone's agenda.

Do kids really need Drag Queen story hours?
......... "Many of these men lead bizarre lives as “adult” sex entertainers.
In March this year, two children’s storytellers at DQSH in American public libraries were found to be registered child sex offenders, with one having a history of working as a transgender prostitute."
I think little children should be left to be children.

We are all human beings in this world and all have a place. But kids are kids and it is not good push this on them as it can lead to confusion.
Not only overly inflated - but what has this to do with an afternoon - in the library.

Drag Queens are not tryng to pass themselves off as women - it's all about theatrical make-beieve. So if kids are going to be confused by that, then should we also ban 'dress-ups' in schools during Childrens Book Week? Aren't all those witches, wizards, pirates, cats in hats, equally 'confusing.' Specially if one of the girls decides to be a pirate or one of the boys dresses as a witch.

Even though I see the 4 people agreeing with you in kudos , I wonder how many of these Circle folk have really have thought about it. Well, the_great_she_elephant, I have to disagree. Drag queens are not about theatrical make believe. These are actual drag queens in the sexual sense! Cats in hats in a play are a different type of interaction than toddlers sitting on the floor listening to a reader viewed as a person of authority (Centre of attention) in an elevated position in the room.
Boys should be taught to be boys and girls should be taught to be girls when they are little. It's tragic when hearing of some parents deciding to raise a kid as gender neutral..I believe the term is a theybie.
Also I believe that homosexuals, lesbians and transvestites are people who have rights and should be treated fairly, I don't see why little impressionable minds should be force-fed this.
BTW: Some parents have been vocally concerned about children being part of activities involving witches and wizards as it seen as an introduction to the occult. I can sort of see their point actually. I know that many parents were concerned about Harry Potter books and films. And Halloween appears to be a concern as well.

These are actual drag queens in the sexual sense!
Objective evidence?
Which isn't your personal opinion, btw.

Well, what is a drag queen if he is not a drag queen?

Not defending or knocking anyone here, but regardless of sexual orientation (let's face it I doubt these 'queens' were dressed in the 'work gear' so to speak, while reading to the kiddies.)
But this : This is what concerned me - are NO checks done anymore on people who are to be around children?
