So I start my own dumb question thread - which I probly be the only one asking - ha ha
But I wanna know: When you buy a roast chicken from the supermarket and theres some left - when do you put it in the fridge? When its still hot or do you leave it out to cool down or what?
And yes I am serious.............

OK, that sorted the chicken and milk jug questions. Now I have a dumb question.
How do you keep sliced ham fresh for more than three days. I keep mine in the fridge, but after three days it gets sticky and I dare not eat it.
Hi, Lobs, love this thread.

Freeze it in portions after you buy it. Easy.

Hi Erica. My first suggestion is to not buy the sliced or shaved ham that is in the display at the supermarket or deli, ask them to slice it fresh for you, you never know how long the stuff in the display has been sitting there for. Secondly when you get home take it out of it's packaging and store it in the fridge in an air tight container this should keep it fresh for at least a week 🙂

Thanks, polks.
I have done that, but it does mot make it easy if one wants a sandwich in a hurry. Frozen ham tastes blerk.

Thank you, I will try that. Never thought about the sliced stuff sitting in the Deli display for a few days.
Yep, never to old to learn.

And dont worry if they look at you funny when you request your 250g (or however much you buy) of shaved ham to be sliced fresh, it's their job and most (I've found) are fine with it if you ask nicely 😉

"Whats a quango?" this question was asked by a poster who seems to have an opinion on all things political, a political know all in fact. I found that by her asking that question she should retire quietly from all political threads. to avoid asking more dumb questions
