E Harmony - any users?

   Beware all my single friends of E Harmoney, I joined up a year ago, for 3 payments of $75 i think?...cant remember. Anyway, never had much interest in it since then, havent met anyone worthy and decided that i would not renew my subscription this year, that i would let it lapse. Well, E Harmoney robbed my credit card this week without my consent. They say its in the fine print, 'auto renew' unless your turn this off in your account settings (after the last of 3 payments last year and 2 days before this years renewal date) it just renews.....ok i thought, I will suck up $75 charge and be done with it. NOT so easy, they are now saying that i can only opt out AFTER they have charged my credit card 3 times ie up until September. I am sure theres laws against this. They can not force me to 'buy' something. Anyway, please share this story, I would like to see it spread everywhere, so E Harmoney get the message loud and clear, they cannot circumvent statute law. Spread the word!!

Norton had it too, I can't tell you the amount of disputes we had to do when I was working in the bank.

Read the fine print people. All those free diet pills and cosmetics have some box that says you'll receive more next month.

Buyer beware for sure. You even need your wits about you when booking a flight with Jetstar! Holy moly there's a trap for the unwary!!!

Make sure you minus all the $$ they add on.

its a scam, no one is going to remember,,, score $250 per person, worldwide who happens not to remember 11 months after a sign up

Oh I agree 100%. That box to untick is hidden away somewhere in account settings.

Its totally shameful, deceptive and unconscionable conduct.

Go to your bank and cancel the payments. It can be done.

I had a problem with Voyage Fitness they took many payments out because I was under the impression that I could not stop it. Well you can.

They were on my case and then put it with a debt collector.

I asked them if they would like to talk this one out with 60 minutes or the like because they were rorting, and I could prove it. 

Never heard from them again.

the bank has beem contacted and the relevant account closed....thankfullyits only $80 loss

let them try and enforce this unfair 'contract'

but now i am on a mission, it is unconsionable, immoral and unethical - wonders if like CMsays, would ACA be interested?.....

not single but the e harmony ads creep me out, would not be using an online dating service, ever. I know lots do and apparently find ever lasting bla bla bla, or a leaner bank account at least.

A little aside but reminds me of ethical buying groups.

Be nice to start an internet group by members that suggests ethical purchasing and blackbans unethical ones.

(The Saved Planet is a good one for consumer goods).

Do they have a Web Page that has reviews left by users ? Maybe state your concerns and reviews there.  Tell others on Facebook etc. Be truthful & factual as others may think you have just got the "bleeps " with them. 🙂
