I think anyone could predict that. Given the ease of international travel nowadays, any transmissable disease has the potential to spread globally. It will no doubt cause as much fear, panic and misunderstanding as AIDS did, but I doubt very much whether it will wipe out or erven decimate the human race. My own prediction is that as with any other transmissable disease a way will be found of either curing, controlling or immunising against it.
