Eclipse childcare centres

Does anyone have a child attend a centre and what are your thoughts?
We attended an open morning at a brand new centre....a little different from the run of the mill ones? IMO some positive and negetive points about it but generally I tbought it very nice but would love to hear from others.
On a downside any child with a temp 38 or over must be collected within an hour and no Panadol will be given. My daughters train trip taken over an hour ๐Ÿ˜ž

Ive doing doing the research for Day care for my 17 month old, and wow its hard to make good judgements based on a walk through or chat with a staff member!

The fab looking places around here are fully booked and Ive put her name on the waiting list of 2 to start next year in the 2 yr olds room.

I know it been a loooong time since I put a child into care (and i know there is the Govt rebate), but I nearly fell over when they told me the fee was $102.50 per day! whew that's high! IMO!

Im in Sydney so Ive not heard of Eclipse.... what are things you took into consideration when deciding the positives & negatives if you dont mind me asking?

At this stage for my situation, Missy will be going to the Ocassional Care Centre at the local shopping centre a 5 min drive from my work while my grandmother & mother take their overseas trips so I can work, that covers around 4 months so after they are back & settled I can see what we need from there.

wow that is a high fee....$85 here.  $87 for the odd additional day.

My daughter is not happy with the number of constant staff changes from room to room....there seems to be a lack of consistancy at the moment at his current centre plus he really has not settled since being moved up to an older room. The parking is another issue with a long walk to the door from the carpark especially in the rain. there isonly evaporative cooling which results in a wet sticky centre after several hot days.

Eclpise offer a more natural enviroment with encouranged indoor outdoor play at the childs choice....lots of undecover areas so they can still rug up and play outdoors. Slighlty Montasori from what I can gather.

My kids used to go to Jubilee Park near Parramatta. I put them on the waiting list while it was being built.. such a long time ago.  Good luck with your searches.

Check out university run day cares (often hard to get into).  My daughter (in Melbourne) went to Deakin University full time for years, and part time for her last year and part time at Monash Uni day care (split up between 2 centres in her final year to get her used to making new friends, a bigger centre etc).

Both are exceptionally great centres.  University based centres often are better, as they have uni accreditation as well as the child care accreditation.

In addition, at Deakin, all part time staff were uni students studying teaching, psychology, nursing etc. rather than just people with no training so you get really high quality staff, as well as the uni based centres having more PD than normal centres.

Loved both the centres my child went to!
