Economic policy

The whole World is being run by imbecilic morons.
They all believe that the failing economies will right themselves by continuing to do the same things that have brought us here.
There's only one pie.
The more the one percent have the less the rest of us have.
These morons think we're magically going to start spending more money when we have less every year.

Economic policy

my economic policy is a simple one . . . I try not to spend more than I earn

Spoiler
I know, a simple philosophy . . .
Spoiler
. . . and it isnโ€™t working for me since I have zero income!
Spoiler
. . . so I have to spend someone elseโ€™s money
Spoiler
(and I donโ€™t mean Newstart or any other from of welfare payment)

Oh, that old chestnut.
You probably didn't mean it but you just vilified those on Newstart.
I'm on Newstart.
I'm injured and will be for nearly two years.
I would do anything to be off Newstart.
I'd happily kill myself.
That's how much I hate it but ny sister hasn't recovered from my father's suicide in 1979 so I could never do that to her but if she died tomorrow so would I

I also spend less than I get.
I bought and paid a house mortgage while mainly unemployed.
The thing about a Government and a household economy couldn't be more different.
We are seeing the effect of a Government seeking a surplus.
Government surplus equals household debt but because the moron in cheif has more than twenty seven million US he has a smile on his face.
That will cost more than fifty percent of the population everything

it wasnโ€™t meant that way martin. I was just getting in before anyone asked if I was on any form of assistance, not that assistance means you spend someone elseโ€™s money.

As long as the economy stagnates, some businesses (esp retail) will go under.....as has been reported recently.

It's not just bricks and mortar shops either.  Three favourite online shops that I bought from regularly have closed down in the last year.

As the pollies....the next one who says electricity bills will be going down when it actually never happens, should be electrocuted.  That should put a stop to that nonsense. Smiley Happy

Martin, if you will not be able to work for any length of time shouldn't you be on some sort of sickness benefit?

Are you able to apply for jobs to qualify for Newstart?

That don't have sickness benifits any more.
I get a pharmaceutical benifit and have had a pension card since my heart condition in 2013.
They now do work capacity assessments to eliminate the need to fulfill mutual obligation.
It was part of the benifits streamlining that occurred some time ago

Thanks for that information Martin.....just shows how long since I have dealt with Newstart.

All I have to worry about now is paying our Workers Compensation Policy for a policy that is useless because of our ages.

So much for encouraging workers to work past retirement age.
