The biggest mistake I can see is that J Gillard called the election too soon. Since she announced the date she went on an election campaign & then K Rudd came in & did the same.
Are we all fed up with it? have the voters lost interest? is this the reason Mr Rudd is not getting any traction because voters made up their mind whilst MS Gillard was still PM.
Is the Australian people just fed up with all things Labor & now the failure of the PNG solution? are they waiting in anticipation to have THEIR say on how they want the direction this country to take.
Was the early calling of the election date just another huge misstep from Miss Gillard? amongst the many she made in response to the vicious undermining she had to suffer from Mr Rudd.

I am getting tired of all things political. Regardless of the party.

Sorry Aztec, but I'm totally over the political discussions here and will now wait to see the result of the election.

We got emails to say our ballot papers are on their way. So will vote and send back asap. Then it can all go over my head. Won't be able to do a thing to change it.

Yes, i do agree also. It was a silly idea to set the date so early. But, NO I am not sick of following what is going on; this election will have a huge impact on the direction our country is going to take.

Voter fatigue, absolutey. I switched off months ago and I have to say this place hasn't helped, talk about overload. I can't imagine why people spend all day every day going on about this one and that one, surely there is more to life than politics, even for those that want to stay informed.

I am sorry, but why do people who are bothered by political discussion reeading the political posts? There is plenty of **bleep** topics, which have no interest for me and I just plainly do not even click on them.

The cmpaign does not seem to have much enthusiasm surrounding it. It is certainly not a fire and brimstone election, or at least not yet.
My guess is that this has been building up for a long time, that people have steadily come to the conclusion that a change of government is necessary and desirable and that they are now quietly biding their time until, mercifully, the day of judgment arrives.
In the meantime, we will just have to persevere with watching the slow and steady death march of a thoroughly discredited government.
