Equlity. Good thing or not?

I am aware that some people are confused as to what gender they are and some try very hard to assimilate to the opposite gender but you could not, under ANY circumstances, call a male of the species and the female of the species IDENTICAL.

Now we're getting to the point of the OP.

Which Senator said what about who?

Equality does not mean sameness; equality means equal rights. Equal rights benefit freedom, fairness and human advancement by creating a fair field for everyone. Coercion toward sameness destroys personal freedom by forcing everyone to be the same, even as it undermines human advancement by destroying what is at the root of human advancement: Innovation that is in all cases a function of work by innovative minds that think differently from what is thought around them. The error of confusing equality with sameness is saboteurial to America and undermines its best qualities. And if America is to regain the world leadership in innovation or to live up to its promise of freedom, then this error must be confronted and overcome in every place that it exists.

If you look at it from a human rights perspective (which is what Poddster means) it is very clear what equality means. 

I know that you believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm not sure you
realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

Why are people defining equality when this thread is about equlity... And after reading though, I realise it means equivalence. I mean equvalence. The good thing is, the OP and his ovine offsider are working towards attaining equlity with mainstream society. Now we just have to wait.
