Give ita bit of thought before you answer.
If you answer Yes

Equality is not about controlling society
In an equal society control would be needless and unknown.
Control, by definition, implies that the controller is unequal to the other members of the society.

In a society where equality existed there would be no enovation, no achievement, improvement or detererioration of the status quo would not exist.
There could be no individual thought and that society would eventually die of boredom.
I'll use this example again .How would or could giving someone wheelchair access in public areas so that they can access the areas 'equally' to someone with working legs result in the above ? Are those with legs going to somehow become less able ?

In an equal society all people would be EQUAL and no specific extra facilities would need to be supplied.
If there were people unlike the rest of the people in that society it would not be equal.
I guess some just want to make their own point according to their hobby horse 🙂

Podds, you mention Equality in the thread title
Equlity. Good thing or not?
you also mention being equal.
I have asked for your definition of equality among other things.
I take it you don't like equality ?
Reducing inequality doesn't doesn't disable the abled ....it is aimed at abling the disabled.

as far as the concept of being the same...that won't happen. We are living breathing human beings .All individual and unique .Equality doesn't change that fact.

Measuring equality is quite complex in that a number of different factors are taken into account ie opportunity, employment, gender, income etc It depends on how you are quantifying equality so from what aspect and what is the mean that that is measured against.
It's not simple you have to be able quantify, you have to have something to measure it against and even then its difficult so equality in what? So two people measured against each other may have different outcomes but their intrinsic value remains the same in that they are human beings. Society has determined our statuses as individuals and all that encompasses through its underlying philosophy.
But when it comes to opportunity that would have a number of factors that would determine that ie education, environment etc etc etc. Ideally its black and white but its really quite complex.
