I had decided to not answer questions from anyone but Bob, but I'll make an exception. I also said 'one at a time' , so that is what I'll do - even though you will make something entirely different of my response.

God says..."I have given you every herb ... and every tree ... for meat." What - even the poisonous ones?

Since many plants have evolved poisons to protect against animals that would like to eat them, God's advice is more than a little reckless.

Would you tell your children to go out in the garden and eat whatever plants they encounter? Of course not.

Let's just break down what God actually gave them to eat, shall we?

Let's use the whole scripture shall we and not just the bit that suits you and your agenda.

The scripture actually says:

"29 And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat."

So, what did God say was good to eat?

1.It was ONLY:

    a). the "herbs bearing seed"
b). the trees which have "fruit bearing seeds'
c). and more to the point  the plants that were current on the earth at the time. I have been told many times on here, most of plants that existed in those times are now extinct or have evolved into something else - you in fact say exactly that yourself.

Now, let's deal with your second point in which you said : "Since many plants have evolved poisons to protect ....".

You can't have it both ways - either they were created poisonous or they evolved poisons - which is it?.

- since you say 'have evolved poisons' it is clear that originally they weren't posionous.

So, maybe God wasn't so reckless after all.

Now, when I feel like casting a few more pearls before swine, I MIGHT respond to another one of those points. They are all as ridculous as each other.

Oh dear - where do I start?

I guess we can start with the fact that I never mentioned..."Since many plants have evolved poisons to protect against animals that would like to eat them, God's advice is more than a little reckless." .

Curious. I've read and re-read my post, and cannot find those words anywhere! So is it that you really thought you saw them, or are they only a figment of your imagination? You did however put up a link for me to read. Did you check your link for those statements? As you put up the link for me to read - I assumed that you may have read it so as far as I'm concerned you agree with them.

Secondly, if your god made everything, and only suggested eating...

.a). the "herbs bearing seed"
b). the trees which have "fruit bearing seeds'

c) OK. Leave out the third one - the most important one - just like Bob, aren't you - but much more poisonous and vindictive in your arguments.

Are you aware that at least 99% of ALL plants bear seeds and/or fruit? That also includes the poisonous ones! And still others have friuts which are both edible AND poisonous! And still more have medicinal purposes in small doses but feel free to leave that part out.

But - if you take natural selection into account, it becomes a far more plausible solution, in that plants have developed, over time, a defense mechanism to protect themselves from eradictaion by ingestion. In the same way that many animal and insect species have developed poisons or foul smells to ward off potential predators. Clever little plants aren't they? Did they all sit around one day and discuss this or did each and every one of them make their own conscious decisions with their tiny little brains that no-one except evolutionsist seem to know about? Oh! That's right, plants don't have brains to make conscious decisions, do they? Silly me. Leave it up to the animals - at least they have brains, but I wonder how many millions of years it took them to work out that 'hey! if I develop a poison then those big bad predators won't eat me. I know! It was after their best friends were eaten - they were so broken up about it that they thought 'I'm not having that! I'm going to develop a poison to get back at those b!@#$%.

The same as the Evolutionist video I watched that said fish that got fed up with being eaten thought up the idea of growing legs so they could run up the river bank and espape their predators. But - fooled them! The predators were on to them - they grew legs too and chased them.

Smart man, your god! That's the only part of your post I agree with.

And please - feel free to cast some more 'Pearls before this Swine' - I'm more than happy to tear holes in theistic theories.

Theist theories - let's see! Compared to your abiogenisis and evolutionary facts you mean?

Can't stand long posts. SKIP.

Seriously rabbit. I am not aware of any respectable theologian who defends the science of the bible. Even the best of them will only argue that genesis was meant to be taken as with a poetic license.

Some muslims argue that the Koran contains amazing scientific facts we didn't know about. Go figure. If you make enough claims, I'm sure one will turn out to be true.

Sarcasm really does become you, Rabbit.

It's been said before, and I'll say it again here...

Yes, I know you can't read long posts. I'll bet you read 'evil's post though!  Just read my bit.

You have, or so you claim, read quite long science books about evolution - was then when you were younger? I know what it's like - my eyes are not what they used to be. But, I do try to read all of a post after all the poster has gone to the trouble of writing it, so I think the least I can do is read it - especially if it's about a subject in which I am interested or have asked questions.

I was challenged on here to read "Origin of The Species" - in fact I seem to remember someone on here saying that I wouldn't. But I did. Having done that, I was then told to read some more.  ..... still there Bob? Haven't nodded off or lots attention span yet? Don't worry, I have almost finished.

Now, I challenge you and all your buddies to read this - but you won't.

http://www.evolutiondeceit.com/

You could download the PDF and read it at your leisure.

Don't worry about the preamble - it's mostly religious stuff anyway - have a look at the chapter headings - and pick one that you like -

I particularly like:

CHAPTER 9: The Scenario of Human Evolution

CHAPTER 10: The Molecular Impasse of Evolution

CHAPTER 11: Thermodynamics Falsifies Evolution

CHAPTER 12: Order Cannot Be Accounted for by Coincidence

CHAPTER 13: Why Evolutionistsโ€™ Claims Are Invalid?

but the earlier chapters are quite interesting too.

CHAPTER 4: The Fossil Record Refutes Evolution................................

CHAPTER 5: Tale of Transition from Water to Land...............................

but I'll be careful not to mention Chapter 8 as I've already been told not to bring any of that up again.

And 'evil' you may like to read it too if only so you can come on here and point out to us all the lies.

Is that out of the Bible 'evil' ?

'Today's enlightened society' - read the book in my previous post - AND ENLIGHTEN ME as to the lies in that.

Hang on. I'll just go and discuss this with my Macadamia trees - Hang on - my azaleas are sure to have the solution. I'll get back to you.

Sorry, Rabbit. Couldn't be bothered anymore.

As Groucho Marx once rightfully quipped...

"A child of five could understand this. Fetch me a child of five.!"

and

"If you find it hard to laugh at yourself, I would be happy to do it for you!"

There are none so blind as they who refuse to see.

Wilful ignorance in today's enlightened and educated society should not be excused.
