No, but you can demand that your supermarket stocks meat produced in better way. All you need to do is to buy only free range eggs and they do not need be much more expensive; ALDI has them for about $3.50 a dozen. And there are ways to buy meat directly from farmers. We get the most beautiful meat from farmers in Gippsland, the pasture fed cattle or sheep are slaughtered locally, and the farmers deliver and some also sell through various markets. You just need to buy 1/2 beast, but that is not a problem if you can share with friends. The taste is worth the bit of extra effort. 🙂
Just as all supemarkets now stock freerange eggs (I do know that is not always as we imagine) they will also start looking for alternative sources of meat, if they are losing sales.

Well, from what I gathered; the point is the unnecessary human indulgence. Did you not get the cycle of the obese man in the end getting himself cut up because of his over consumption of animals.
If man can limit his needs, the animals will have a better life also.

Look at the workers as well. Something dehumanizing about the factory worker.
Lesson for the day. Only use what you need.

super_nova the biggest factor most family base their purchase on is price.
The more room and comfort we give the animals the more expensive their meat becomes.
It would be great to only have free range food but that just isn't possible.
I only watched about 50 seconds because there was a huge factor of guilt in seeing that chicken production line and I don't eat chicken or anything that had wings when it was alive. I am yet to try turkey or duck, I have never partaken of the usual Christmas feast because of my inability to eat winged meat.

Do we really need to eat as much meat as we do??? expensive or not. we're the 2nd fattest nation in the world.
I would recommend for you to watch the whole thing, It's not as graphic as you think but it was surely powerful in message. The point to take is what it does to us humans at the end. It's about opening our eyes and not about scared tactics.

Good for those who were able to watch until the end - I gave up after 10 seconds. There are other ways other than
sickening tactics to bring such points across.

So how can you comment? You do not know what the message is! If you eat poultry, beef or pork you should be aware what is being done to enable you to buy meat from the supermarket. Bump you are right price is a big factor, but that is the whole point; people should buy less of better quality meat. They would get much more wholesome nutrition from meat that comes from free ranged animals, the taste is also much superior and I was surprised at the low price.
Here is a blog by somebody who did the research http://cowsinclover.blogspot.com.au/ although some of the links are bit old now. And there was Landline program about "straight from the farm" meat providers: http://www.abc.net.au/landline/content/2013/s3687113.htm
