Female Doctor's first appearance

Doctor Who: Fans hail Jodie Whittaker in female Doctor's first appearance

i watched the first of the new DW series and felt the female Doctor is OK, much the same as the first episode of every doctor, they act all weird and disorintated for a while then get with it and save the day just before credits, i give her a 9 out of 10.

its the 'friends/companions' i have nore difficulty with and killing off someone without a reason too.

not having a 'carry over' companion to help the new doctor with his/her changes is sad.

kinda like with this doctor they not only get a new body but lost all touch with the privious doctors life.

she says several times 'its only 45 minutes' since she was peter capaldi.

might have made more sense had she woken up years after her transformation in a new place. also help to explain the sex change, takes longer to create a woman, more detail needed.

oh, and building a sonic screwdriver?

in previous doctor whos the tardis created them and they were in the tardis consol waiting for his awakening.

or the nearest BBC giftshop. lol

and i'm pretty sure there was not a lot in that old workshop that could be turned into a timelord sonic screwdriver.

a bit to child like to believe that bit.

i hope they are not going to turn DW into a kids show the way they did with the original series after peter davidson left.

the 6pm timeslot is way too early, 7.30 saturdaynight or sunday would be better.

Female Doctor's first appearance

well my worst fears seem to be coming true, they are dumbing down the show to primary school aged kids.

the weekly 'bad guys' are pretty pathetic and there is lots of running about not doing much by our heroes.

and so many questions during episodes left unanswered.

Female Doctor's first appearance

I hate to say it but I am already bored with the show.

The female Doctor is OK though she could shut up occasionally.  So much is made of her accent, her outfit etc, but so far there's not much more to see.

Overall, there's just something 'flat' about the episodes.  I thought they might be easier to follow than some of the previous ones (which sometimes was due to the scripts and sometimes due to daft directing IMO) but it has gone so far the other way that we might as well be watching certain later Doctors we'd all rather forget.

I now wonder how long the series will last?

Female Doctor's first appearance

watched the 'whovians' and they say no old caracters will be returning. does that mean no daleks or cyber men or weeping angels or even old cast members doing cameos?

missy or the many previous 'chums'

if they are planing on new people and bad guys for all this doctor well thats the end of the show.

I think I watched less than five minutes of one episode before getting so bored I switched off.
