I agree, and there are others.
On the contrary, what I learned at school was:
Q: who made me?
A: God made me.
Q: Why did God make me?
A: God made me to know him, love him and serve him in this world and to be happy with him forever in the next.
Q: In whose image and likeness did God make me?
A: God mde me in his own image and likeness.
Q: Is this likeness to God chiefly in my body or my soul?
A: This likeness to God is chiefly in my soul.
Straight out of the catechism, and 60 years later I can still quote it verbatim.
After leaving school, however I embarked on what you could say was my real education. I read books - lots of them - including Darwin's On The Origin Of Species, and Dawkins's The Selfish Gene and The Greatest Show On Earth. I watched documentaries and science programmes on television, I talked to people who knew quite a lot about paleontology and gradually I came to the conclusion that the "truths" I had been taught in school were probably not true at all; that the evidence for creation or intelligent design - whether by God or aliens- simply didn't stack up against the far greater body of evidence that said life most likely did indeed emerge from the primordial slime around 4000 million years ago and evolve down different paths over the millenia until 2.5 million years ago life forms developed that were recognisably human.
I only have to consider the mind boggling odds against my ever having been born to realise that human life (even allowing for natural selection) is basically random and accidental.
