We are still in great trouble here... the riverbank has been undermined and today a business has fallen in... the RSL and the Hotel nearby have been inspected and are ok but there is a concern they are at risk...
Peoples homes have collapsed into the ground after the river had broken it's bank and washed through areas thought safe. Complete retirement villages were engulfed by water and homes were just washed completely off their stumps....
Apparently Wayne Swan does not think the situation is really serious... he said the damage was not that bad.... 😞

Cat........amazing pics, I have a friend that lives in Bundaberg, she says it is terrible.
So much heartbreak for so many families.....it really is sad.
For Wayne Swan not to think the damage is too bad, is absolutely discusting.X-(
Ofcourse if he lived there, he would think differently.

So many people are living in limbo...
I spoke with a lady several days ago that told me how she had lost everything.... but the worst loss was the ashes of her teenage son that died three years ago... I could not help but have a little cry with her and give her a hug... I offered her a place to stay because she is staying with her sister one hour out of town and it is such a long drive to and from work... she said no as she just wants to be with family...
she was seething at that comment of Swannies....

How very sad for this poor lady, having lost my own son, I know how heartbreaking it is for her to lose her sons ashes........it would be like losing her son twice........

get with the program Eloi...
"Although this is a significant and severe disaster, it was not on the same scale as the disasters of 2011"
that is the comment the I am talking about...
as people homes were sinking into the mud and being washed away people were not donating to the Premiers Fund... it turns out that people were hit twice last time as they were slugged with a flood levey.. so they sat back and didn't donate much expecting another levy.
Then Wayne Swan says that this disaster was not as bad and that he was not going to do the same thing.. that we didn't need a levy...
By the time this was said the main part of the flooding was over and Swannie has told everyone that the disaster was not that bad and the donations pretty much stopped.

Well that puts it in a different context.
Answering a question about a flood levy is not just coming out saying it's not serious.

PS. there was nothing reportable in my post expressing sympathy for the people.
