Flu shots

Has everybody had theirs?  I made an appointment for my shot for Monday 30th, which supposed to be the 1st day they had the vaccine, but when I got there they were out.  I have been calling now daily, and they keep telling me they did not get any.  Today I was told to call next week!  The government says we should all get it; yet they did not order enough for everybody?

Doesn't sound promising for my booking on the 14th

last year wasn't a prob

last year no one said 'you need it today, yesterday would be better'

so just about everyone is trying to get it yesterday.

There was a sense of urgency due to that deadly flue last year

Obviously Covid-19 has upped the ante

Signatures suck.

My partner works in aged care and is getting one today. My parents where on the way monday to get one and the docter called to cancel so they headed back home. Doctor mentioned they where better to wait as a stronger does was available shortly. Not sure if this is true or not.

It is very likely true. There are stronger vaccines for older people which increases the immune system's response. The details are in this WA Dept. of Health pamphlet

Flu shots

I got in for the 22nd of this month.

Been having them for about 3 years now, but this will probably be the earliest month I've booked one.

I get them every year, but I have been in the past bit slack about it; if I saw my doctor for other reason during the autumn he would look at her file and tell me to see the nurse on my way out, and get the jab.  Some years I had the shot in August.

I just thought it was strange to be told on the way to their appointment.

We rang on Monday to make an appointment and were told they had not received it yet and to ring back on Thursday.

We have been having the shots for many years but never before Easter as the vaccine has a short period of maximum effect and the flu season is still in full force through August/September.

There are 2 different vaccines; one for under 65 and one for over.  The one for older people is stronger with additional stuff in it.

Last time I had the Flu shot I was really sick for 5 days and have not bothered since.

I dont care about the F------ virus at the moment, my hospital appointment has been cancelled because of the Virus, now I feel thrown on the scrap heap 😞

I am just thankful I am not in Pain but worry about others who are.
