Fortunately

In several ways Australia has been fortunate

Am thinking  about  lifestyle

On paper the social restrictions seem very restrictive and an assumed  cause of prolonged anguish but for many people when one thinks about how time is spent , there is not much difference in life style between now and before.... this has i imagine reduced mass emotional stress for a large part of the society.

In some of the restrictions like public distancing standards would be a relief to many

btw - any data on car accident deaths lately , have they been reduced ? will we see the ledger in the black , when the accounting is done after the contagion passes ?

I totally support the government in enforcing the rules and keeping people off the street as much as possible.

BUT, on one hand it seems OK to go to Bunnings, or to hairdresser, while there was a lone man fishing on our deserted pier fined $1600, as was the 17 years old getting driving lessons from her mother, who she lives with.  I would have thought that getting driving experience on the very much quieter roads would be a good use of time, and definitely not a COVID 19 threat.

My granddaughter who is an only child and is self isolated with her mother for past few weeks, is not allowed to go to play with her best friend, who is also isolated.  But it would be OK to go to school next week.  Really, WHO makes such ridiculous rules?  So parents of only children have the choice of having them stressed and upset by their isolation, or taking chance sending them to school and risking them getting infected.  If my granddaughter goes to school they will not be able to help me, as I have compromised lungs = burned by radiation treatment for breast cancer.
