That would mean an end to the victimhood mentality that is part of the palestinians' baggage.
But they are the victims.
Think about it, maybe try and put yourself in a Palestinians shoes. You are born into military occupation, by the age of 12 you have already seen 3 wars, possibly lost one or more of your parents, one or more of your siblings, possibly your whole family,
your house has been demolished...
Think about this: when the palestinians do nothing the israelis do nothing. Do you hear of the israelis firing rockets into the Gaza strip just for a buzz or maybe to kill or maim? When was the last time an israeli boarded a bus in the Gaza strip and exploded a bomb? Most military action in that benighted area known as the Gaza strip is self inflicted.

You could look at it the other way. If Israel withdrew from Palestine, which it has occupied since 1967, the Palestinians would no longer need to take retaliatory action.
From Wiki:
"The International Court of Justice,[2] the UN General Assembly[3] and the United Nations Security Council regards Israel as the "Occupying Power".[5] UN Special Rapporteur Richard Falk called Israel’s occupation "an affront to international law."[6] The Israeli High Court of Justice has ruled that Israel holds the West Bank under "belligerent occupation".[7] According to Talia Sasson, the High Court of Justice in Israel, with a variety of different justices sitting, has repeatedly stated for more than 4 decades that Israel’s presence in the West Bank is in violation of international law.

It is all about the greed for land and some book that was written a few thousand years ago
