I reckon the introduction of the RS Commodore FWD didn't help the brand much
This is a re-badged Opel
After all that money they spent on the VT ( & onwards) making it our own - not an Opel panel in sight.

A FWD Commodore isn't a Commodore. And no V8 option wouldn't help for the target market. Even the small VB-VLs had a V8 option.
Like what they did with the Gemini and we know how that worked out.

R.I.P Holden.
My dad owned a V8 Holden premier and I learnt to drive on that. Fond memories.

Yep
But, what do you mean with the Gemini? that was to fill the small car segment, not to replace a big car surely.
The Gemini was a re-badged Isuzi wasn't it? A great little car I thought.

Or do you mean the transition to FWD? yeah, I always liked the looks of the 86 Gemini, pity.

might be a good time to buy replacement badges and emblems as restorers will want them i years to come
