A very dear friend of mine, Lesley Reece, the founder/directer of the Literature Centre in Fremantle, has been recognised in the Queens Birthday Honours List as a Member of the Order of Australia for her significant service to children through improving literacy skills and promoting the country’s authors and illustrators.
A well deserved honour and I am so proud of her.

Congratulations to her TSGE - certainly well-deserved!
There is an eerie symmetry in the location of the Literature Centre - where once Women's health was 'attended to' in less than ideal surroundings - and now the wonderful nerve-centre of Children's Literature!

I love stories like this....derserving and credit given where it is due.
Wonderful news.
Congratulations to your friend, and I'm happy for you too. xx
