I wonder how many more grubby hands that are going to come out of the woodwork?
It was a John Button Memorial Lecture, what else was she supposed to speak about?
Better to discuss and move on than sweep under the carpet to fester for years.
It's not what she spoke about but the words she used? She is done, why do that?

I guess there are wounds and some people are finding it hard to keep them covered by a band aid.

I just wonder how many posters realise or will admit that all politicians, Liberal or Labour, plus Independants are out to line their own baskets without real regard to the people or the Country.
Their glib talk and promises mean nothing once they have achieved the position they want. Not one of them is really clean and truthful.
I did not vote for them.

Totally 100% agree and if they enter politics with an honest agenda it soon gets knocked out of them,

http://www.abc.net.au/news/2013-10-17/call-for-randall-to-resign/5029032
Liberal MP Rob Johnson says the situation is deplorable and Mr Randall should face consequences.
"He should either resign from Parliament and do the honourable thing, or Tony Abbott should show leadership I think here and sack him," he said.
"For him to be on the privileges committee, which oversees standards of members of Parliament, is the height of hypocrisy. Don Randall should go."
Mr Johnson's comments are the latest slings in a long-standing stoush between the pair.
Mr Randall created headlines last year when he stood up in Parliament and launched a tirade against the then WA police minister, calling him a "bumbling embarrassment".
Today, Mr Johnson said he was glad his colleague had come under fire.
"He hasn't got the guts to talk to [the media] and explain why he has used taxpayers funds to go over to Queensland and indeed to Melbourne for what would appear to be for his own personal benefit.
"That to me is totally wrong.
"I always say what goes around, comes around and it couldn't happen to a nicer person," he said tongue-in-cheek.
"I think when you behave badly, it'll come back and bite you one day and that's what happening now.
"He deserves every minute of it."

Yes azureline....I agree with your comment. Nicola was incorrect when she called our ex-PM a ba*tard- that some of us voted for but got Julia....then some of us voted for Julia and then got Kevin- I am sure Mr Kevin Rudd had/has a good Dad

I suppose the "Poor People" are sick of getting ripped off by the unions to the tune of millions of dollars. The "poor people" who were stolen from by the very top of the Labor hierarchy, the National President of the Labor Party no less.
Voting for Labor if you are "poor" is no longer relevant in fact. Most voters who vote for Labor are the aspirational voters just like the Liberal voters. Most "poor" people are better looked after by the Liberals as they have more money to spend, they do not waste it on the fiascos we saw Labor waste at the expense of all Australians & the most needy were ripped off by Labor.
That old chestnut is long gone unless you are a welfare recipient who cannot or will not work then they are under the total misapprehension that Labor will "look after them" just like they looked after the single mothers.
It will be interesting to see this Opposition Labor in action, the monotonous song sheet they will parrot every day like "the alternative Prime Minister" rote they began as soon as they lost power. The never ending doorstop interviews feeding the 24 hour news cycle that so brought them undone last time.

Do you know what they did to single parents? not only mothers btw.
Perhpas they should have stopped the newstart requirements that Howard introduced and increased the payment to the recent PPS recipients instead of decreasing the payment to the long term recipients. They would possibly have been attacked even more for that action.
