I thought this might be of help.:|
It isn't to me..... as it is not applicable to what I have concerns about..........
If the posting content or style of a particular member is causing problems for you, there is a feature available to ignore all posted content from that member. This allows you to avoid unwanted or undesirable post
content. You can learn more about this function here:
http://community.ebay.com.au/help.jspa#setprofile
Any posts that explicitly violate the eBay Board Usage Policy
http://pages.ebay.com.au/help/policies/everyone-ov.html
can be reported for review.
To report a post, click the “Report Abuse” link located on every post, and select the violation from the pull-down menu.
Alternatively, you might choose to start an eBay Group
http://community.ebay.com.au/help.jspa#groups
As a Group Leader, you can select either a public or private setting and either allow public participation or limit the membership to a specific subset of friends and
acquaintances which will allow you to restrict the conversation to only those with whom you wish to engage.

Az, unfortunately you would have to assume that all posters are interested in a harmonious environment here, not the case as we have seen time and time again.
It would be nice though.

It wasn't so much the harmonious environment as it was the way some threads/posts of a despicable or disgusting nature stay here for days, yet a seemingly inane post can go in seconds.

Maybe time for ebay to automatically place some on ignore for those who refuse to do it themselves? For those who continue to grumble about some posters but can't for some reason find the ignore button:|
Wouldn't life be so simple if we could post with the ability for only certain members to see it;\ but then what would they spend their day doing without the dramas

A bit like the block feature on Facebook ? If you block them not only can you not see them but they can't see you ? I think it would be great.

Az, I think if I put your comments with those of TS and Trish what I get from that is that and some comments made around the place is that some people really like the threads and posts which may be there to cause problems for people ...some find that entertaining. They could probably happy that those posts stay ? and perhaps have more of an issue with what they come in and state may be 'boring' or of no interest or entertainment value to them or whatever.
Power and control in the 'wrong hands' may not be as it should be ?
Yes there are little things that some make a big deal about ,perhaps as that is as they want it?....so they would not necessarily want to ignore.Maybe that is why they post ?
The ignore feature does have some problems as far as I am concerned...that is when big things may be posted (ie; personal info etc)...if someone is ignoring them they will not see it themselves......everyone else will though. If those who push buttons like those things it may well stay ? and other things that should stay...go ?

Where did you find that information?

and of course, there is this
"Least said soonest mended"
meaning a bad situation can be quickly forgotten if people stop talking about it.

I didn't find it.........a moderator gave it to me.
