Guillotining of Bills

  • to limit debate on (a bill, motion, etc)

  • procedure that can be used to restrict the time set aside for debate during the passage of a bill through the House

I write this for the people that are undecided voters... for those that are unsure of who to trust..... for those that hear the Greens and Labor say that Abbott will be a dangerous person to vote for and that he will push through policy for a certain group.... well this is what the Greens and Labor have done to debate...

When I get angry at the lies and deceit of this government I am told that I am just led by the Murdoch press.....

When I comment that the Greens are low life creatures that will do anything to serve themselves and twist the truth to make anyone look bad but themselves I am also told that I have no idea what I am talking about and that the Greens are above reproach....

well explain this to me then....

I hear that the Greens and Labor say that letting an Abbott government have control of the senate will bring on all sorts of trouble with them forcing through bills without proper debate. That part of democracy is to allow open and honest discussion.....

They use to abuse the Howard Government for forcing 34 bills through the Senate without debate.... I can't remember what their exact words were but they were pretty derogatory... they really thought that forcing through bills was totally inappropriate.

In fact as I sit here Milne is on TV right now warning of having a Senate controlled by Abbott.... lol.. makes me laugh when I have been hearing what they have been doing in the Senate this past 3 years.

They abused Howard for his 34 Guillotining of Bills over 3 years when he had control of the Senate.

Well today the Greens will help Guillotine 55 Bills though the house. One of those Bills is 100% to benefit the Greens to gain a permanent seat  on a committee. If Howard had forced through a bill to benefit the Coalition he would have been crucified.

When these 55 Bills are forced through the Senate without debate  that will make a total of 216 Bills forced through by the Green/Labor alliance without debate in 3 years.. more than in any other Term of Government....

The Greens made a huge commotion about the 34 Bills the Howard forced through.... why is it then ok for the Greens to force through 216 Bills???

Here is a list of bills guillotined up until 2012. It will be interesting to see what it looks like when they update with this years list.

This might be the first thing we agree on...

But the ALP is also a bit two faced... I found this..

This is from when the ALP was the opposition...

The ALP leader in the Senate, Chris Evans, has itemised a list of government actions concerning Question Time, censure motions, guillotines, gags and Senate Committees.

The Opposition argues these actions constitute “democratic abuses”. -

Did you listen to Peter Garrett yesterday? What he said about the environment was true.

Why is tony rabbit so insistent that "I'm not being negative" and the follow with a nasty negative statement?

i think it's because his spin doctors have ordered him not to be negative, but he doesn't know how?

Now he's saying "Kevin it's not all about you" .. Has he short term memory issues? So far his entire speech has been about Kevin :^O

I can't believe that no one here cares that the Green/ALP government have forced through 55 Bills today...more than the Howard Government did in 3 years...
