HILLSONG on ACA?

Do not like the show, but may watch it because the stories I have heard of Hillsong are quite jaw dropping.

Nothing wrong with making money, though I think the lord may have a problem if you use him/her to accumilate personal  wealth  in their name.

HILLSONG on ACA?

I remember the book and also saw it on a few current affairs programs. Most of it from memory was dismissed and it seemed like she had a lot of issues that she blamed the church for.

I guess unless we personally know the people involved it is very hard to make judgements. Current Affairs programs over the years have done several programs on Hillsong some positive some not so positive...  Probably just regurgitated from somewhere lol!!

Now is it on tonight or has it been on and is there a link anyway???

Catholic Priests may be impoverished but the Catholic Church certainly isn't.

defend them all you like, i have first-hand knowledge of the operations of a lot of these churches. example 1. evangelist pastor in Adelaide builds a large church  with offerings and donations.. he has SA housing trust accomodation (taxpayer funded..clergymen in fact have preference) after a few years he is no longer flavour of the month and sells the church to a south african group who migrated here cashed -up with 'offerings ' from impoverished africans whom they leave behind. this guy gets more than 3 million for the church and its his.. he doesn't build another. 2. same cash -raising method buys an old church and edwardian 2 story manse in central victoria.. pastor quits and leases church back to congregation and new pastor .. keeps 4 million dollar manse for his own use. this kind of thing is going on all over.. catholoc and protestant churches remain church property unless the church sells it.

the priests and ministers certainly dont sell them off to line their own pockets. the Tax laws need review.

First you get down on your knees

Fiddle with your rosary

Bow your head in great respect, and

Genuflect Genuflect Genuflect

Ave Maria - Gee it's good to see ya

Doing the Vatican Rag.....Yeah

As For putting Hillsong and religion in the same sentence.....What kind of religion gets hold of your mobile number and spams you with 'joy joy' text messages, till you're forced to ring them  & literally demand that they cease & desist?

How they got my mobile number I'll never know, but once they do.....they never stop until you cut the phone off. = True Story.

Where did I defend anyone ?
I find the accumulation of wealth in the name of religion at the expense of the needy absolutely onscene, no matter which belief / church / organisation.

I would be peeved too if my number was used against my wishes. I haven't heard of it happening before, although I am sure it does. I haven't been spammed as yet and Hillsong have my number on my registration for the conference, although I ticked the box saying that I didn't want my number passed on nor did I want information on upcoming events etc.

To clarify, neither I, nor the church I attend are affiliated in any way with Hillsong. There is simply a group of us from church going to see the speakers and bands at the conference. No it isn't cheap to attend, but it pays for the speakers, bands and entourages to come out here.

Just how rich is the Catholic Church?   I have to admit, I am only aware of my local Catholic parish's budget and don't know what the latest figures are when it comes to the Holy See, so if anyone can come up with some figures from reputable sources,  I would be very interested.  I am not even sure of how many Catholic charities there are.  Anyone?

I did once take time to do some research a few yrs back but it was time consuming.  Time which I don't have atm so if anyone could come up with the latest figures, it would be great.

John is good at this kind of thing.  Would be good to see some graphs, if he could be bothered.
