Hi brighton.Gwen is a rescue chi, and we think she is probably a mix of some sort. My avatar is a puppy picture of her, she is now nearly 8 years old. Artful liked that picture of the chi wearing a wig, and has used that as her avi since she started posting.
Since there are only a few Americans posting here, our dog avatars seem to be following each other quite a bit.
Gwen has a Scomerican accent, since my husband is from Scotland originally. ๐

Thanks for the Fourth of July good wishes. I'm always a day late and a dollar short. We had a wonderful fourth, celebrating with good friends and drinking way too much. I even dranks shots of Fireball Whiskey. Have't done that in years. I made this yummy cake for dessert. It's a chocolate malted milk cake with crunched up malted milk balls on top.
As far as the white after Memorial Day. My mom used Easter as the day to start wearing white. I always had new white shoes, socks and gloves, to wear to Sunday School, with my new pastel pink or lavendar dress.

That cake looks yummy. Hope you enjoyed your day.
I had to wear a hat to sunday school too. Every sunday I would come home, take it off, and pitch it as far back on the top shelf as I could get it. Every sunday morning mum would have to stand on a chair to retrieve it.

Katymatey, my mom never made me wear hats but when I got to be about 14, I wanted to wear all of her hats. I loved hats and was disappointed when people pretty much quit wearing them. That's funny about you tossing yours to the back of the shelf.

Just had a look at Frankie Valli's contribution to Independence Day. Wonderful. At eighty, he still has that remarkable voice, unlike some other singers who have lost it by then. I saw Jersey Boys this morning, a film Valli has eschewed. Good movie, nevertheless. Great producer.
