Me: No - sorry, this is a business number.....
Caller: May I speak to the owner of the business please ?
Me: No, sorry, I am very busy at the moment....
Caller: But this is a very important call.....
Me: Really, how important can it be when you don't even know who you are calling ?

Yes, we a just conducting a short survey. This will take about 15 minutes. Yeah right , Not interested, I'm driving at the moment. Can we call you back at a better time then ? No, I said I'm not interested. What part of Not Interested don't you quite grasp.

Telephone rings and I answer it:
Caller (automated message): "Hello, this is an important phone call. Please hold the phone to speak to one of our operators."
Me: Click, as i hang up.
If the call was really important, then show me the respect of making a live phone call. Even my bank has done this to me.

Today,
Hello i'm just calling you about a very exciting $3,000 investment opportunity?
Me......You are?? Do you have a spare $3,000 because when I report you for ringing a number that's on the DO NOT CALL register you will need that $3,000 to pay your fine.
Now tell me what's your name?

Further to this topic.
We have always given to the RSPCA.
Why wouldn't you - always a heap of animals needing us.
This last week - OH answered the phone - always given - therefore always phoned & always given.
Purchased his 'lucky numbers' for a price - I cannot remember.
The following 5 days - two calls a day from same - with the offer of - no more calls - but sign up for $15 per month - VIP.
Sat OH down & told him we had totally done our bit - still doing our bit with our own animals - 4 horses & the cutest doggy.
Let the younger take over - you are now 70.
They just have to stop sometime - I for one got sick of it - not the animals - the phone calls.

My OH does online surveys which over time is very profitable. When someone calls asking him to answer questions, he states that he does surveys for a living and how much are they intending to pay him, and that before he will answer their questions he wants an emailed undertaking that they will pay. Strangely without fail they all hang up.

Online surveys are starting to turn feral too. A while back I did answer a survey on 'health services' in my area. Two days later I got a call from the same organisation offering remedies for arthritis amongst others. Just a scam to sell. I won't answer any more surveys unless they are official ( and I have no choice).
