Help Please - Ceramic Cook Top

Big Crikey has just melted one of those green and yellow scrubby kitchen sponges on the indoor Ceramic Cook top.

It's like glass though?. A flat panel of glass.  (It's got ceramic written on the side - I've never used one)

How do I clean it? Will it scratch if I kind of scrape it off with a scrapey thing or a BBQ spatual?

I clean mine using a scraper thing like a paint scraper with a blade in it ( the sort you use to take paint off window glass). That should take the melted sponge off. You can get products to clean and polish after that.

I would be surprised if my husband has ever used ours and only know he has used the oven once because I overheard him asking mr 16 how to turn it on.

I can understand why that kind of cooktop is avoided in preference to another.  We have gas and ceramic and the ceramic one is totally ignored ....  perhaps Crikey has that kind of setup ...  Smiley Indifferent

called cooktop magic, it is a cleaner and protector. you may want to use that after you get the melted stuff off it.
