After being away several months, I notice many of the same faces are still spending all day posting, despite their assurances that they work. One even spent a whole day waiting until 5.30 pm before posting just to prove she is employed!!! (only people unemployed or on benefits for years would assume the average work day is still from Nine-to-Five LOL!)
My question is, how do you afford to be here so much? Do you live off savings, an inheritance, divorce settlement, or do you simply chat from a library or a second hand notebook on limited internet usage?
To get a decent computer costs at least $2000 and without good internet connection, chatting on a forum isn't even worth it, so are these regulars going into debt over the boards? Would a bank even loan or credit them enough to supplement their activites and time usage here?
It's all very puzzling...

Once again you have not read what I have written.
You are right , I do make MY decisions based on fact, however I do NOT make decisions for other people
I have observed countless times that the vast majority are conned into believing that they NEED something or other without having a full understanding of what they are told they need.

The FTTH NBN is a prime example of forcing on people something that the vast majority do not NEED and will never need.

FTTP isn't going to happen under the LNP, so why do you still go on about it?

If some one has a need for it it can and will be provided so it will happen.
That is how it should have been in the first place.

Who are you to say what people will need?
That's just a difference of opinion and yet you claim your opinion is correct and the others are wrong.
The sentence above is a classic example of you insisting you are right and most others are wrong.
Our data usage is doubling approximately every 18 months and about 95% of that is over fixed line networks. The old copper network is not going to be adequate to meet our needs.
It's not being forced on you. You don't have to use it, stick to mobile wireless and pay extra.

There were good and valid reason for not creating a hotch potch user pays system, including the high cost of maintenance and operations. The ubiquity increases the cost effectiveness because of the scale. Sure some people can get a fibre connection if they have the big bucks spare to pay for it but why should we facilitate a digital divide when we don't need to? The divide is great enough without increasing it.

On what do you base your data usage doubling every 18 months?
I have not insisted that I am right, I have voiced my opinion. That opinion is based on experience and observation.
The copper network is servicing the majority of needs now, those copper networks would continue to provide the needs of the majority of users. But the NBN Co. would rip them up so that they would have the monopoly.

The problem is that under the NBN Co. scheme it is not just user pays but non user as well.
