Genuine question. Not having a go at anyone. Just wondering why its happening all of a sudden

I came here in mid-June to join in on the photo challenge thread (thanks, Pimpy).  I frequently read some of the other threads here, but don't contribute to them very often.  I will say that sometimes the animosity directed toward us 'Yanks' is quite noticeable.
