The pink banner was a deleted thread.
There is a big push over here to change the quality of the foods we eat. Something about cooking oil not containing saturated fats or something. I can taste the difference....there is a hint peppermint flavour. It doesn't taste as good, but I'm all for it. Visiting here (this board) made me really aware of all that stuff.
I pay more for organic, cage free eggs, and no hormones or antiboitics fed to the chickens...that goes for the chickens I buy too. I've actually made it a hobby this past year comparing the prices of eating out against shopping and cooking yourself, also factoring in the time. Without the time it's cheaper.
I also did the math on renting verses buying here. It used to cost 1/2 as much renting here, now it's about 80% of the cost. So....time to buy and that what made me curious enough to do all that costing.

You rent your food?
But seriously, renting a house costs as much as the monthly repayments would cost if you bought it. it's saving for the deposit which is the big killer.

Technically yes, lol.

The rent here it's usually 2 months rent as a deposite, and a months worth to the Agent, plus the first months rent. So it does add up. Almost as much as deposite on a house. It's the commitment that was a problem for me. (and other stuff). But I loved being able to pack up and leave if I wanted to.
So when that neighbour gets a dog that barks non stop day in day out....bye bye. Or buy buy. I had that problem at my last place. The owner of the dog doesn't know how close he came to real trouble. Actually it would have been trouble for me, so I moved. Now I own and such a peaceful neighbourhood.
Bliss! 🙂

potatoes are fine so long as fresh as have not an ounze of fat in them......washed......pricked with a fork.....sprinkling of salt.....wrap in kitchen paper and popped in microwave til soft, depends on size and number. One medium sized takes about 4 minutes on high, then turn over and do for another 2-3 mins. poke with a sharp knife or do the gentle squeeze test thru paper to see if done...... unwrap carefully, slice open and add a bot o butter. Yum. I like purple or red or pink spuds best. On a bed of shredded lettuce and a little shredded fresh english spinach (small leaf sort) and a little finely shredded cabbage a couple of slices of tomato and cucumber or dill pickles........half a can of sardines in olive oil and a dollop of greek yoghurt. There's a yummo meal:)

I like my big spuds cooked in the over then put into a bowl and cut up.
Then add garlic butter, bacon pieces, cheese, pineapple, colseslaw and salad cream,(OH has sour cream instead).
The smaller spuds I prefer roasted, fried, chips or fried,
The good part is that I'm 5'10" ,weigh 75 kgs,(so can eat as much spud as I like and I've never had a weight
problem).
