How does the Royal thing work?

If George had have been a Georgina, being the first born, would she have gotten to be Queen one day, even if she got a younger brother, or would the female be bypassed in favour of the male?

Some people can go their whole lives and never really live for a single minute.

"So to be fair to Charles, he thought he was marrying somebody who didn't exist, the same way the public loved a princess who did not exist. "

To be even fairer Diana thought she was marrying a man who was in love with her ( not so, as he was in fact in love with someone else).

Until Prince Charles actually becomes King no one will know till then, whether he will choose to be called King Charles or choose a different name.

Prior to the wedding Charles was still getting phone calls from Camilla, there was even a gift sent to her from him, and she sent him a gift (those cufflinks with the intertwined 'C's). His gift to her was a bracelet with the letters GF.

Whilst on their honeymoon Diana reportedly saw Charles wearing those cufflinks and looking at a photo of Camilla when they were aboard the Brittania.

My goodness, the man is only just married and he's still pining for that other woman!

Remember Diana wanted to chuck in the whole wedding beforehand only to be told it was too late.

So she married her 'Prince Charming' and desperately wanted to make it work. But from the start there were '3' in that marriage.

Yes, Diana was also unfaithful but Charles had been from the start.

I could never look upon Camilla as a Queen.

Charles did do one good thing, and that was stand up to his mother when Diana died. He went to collect Diana's body and have it treated as a member of the royal family, complete with royal standard over the coffin. He also persuaded his mother to give her the funeral that she got, had it been up to the Queen and Prince Philip and the Queen Mother Diana would have had much quieter funeral.

Charles knew how much Diana was loved by the public and knew that if the Queen did not do as he wished then the future of the monarchy would be threatened. Recollect the newspaper headlines in the immediate days after Diana's death, "Where is our Queen, where is our flag?" and others similar. It was only due to Charles and the huge demand from the emotional people of Britain that the Queen cut short her Balmoral holiday and flew down to Buck palace to address her public and put up the flag at the palace and have it at half mast.

Personally I would prefer the throne pass directly to William as I believe he has the 'common touch' and would be a far better King than his father.

I'd like to know what Diana meant when she referred to her wedding night as "bizarre".  This she said after she had had experience with other men.

I have not heard or read that one.

Not only gifts. They spent time together prior to the wedding. Charles and Camilla that is.

Prince Charming, he is not, but he has grown up a bit now, I think.

Unhappy situation for all three of them.

He should have had the guts to marry Camilla at the start.

That should firstly read, he should have finalised things with Camilla before taking up with Diana...he was at the altar thinking of Camilla, he has said so.

they were never really apart. Very poor form, Charles ๐Ÿ˜ž

well, have you all forgotten that Camilla was a married woman, long before Charles married Diana? Something like 8 years before?

Nope

She grew tired of waiting around for Charles to make up his mind.

So poor form again, he did not commit, but was happy to keep relations going.

My reply was directly addressing the prior comment. Camilla is not very likable either.
