it's 44 outdoors and 31 inside.
I have just been out hosing down my caged birds. The big boofheaded english budgie is not coping well.
I also had a king parrot on top of the cage that looked just about knackered. She didn't move when I sprayed her, nor did the rosella in the tree. The kingparrot is sitting on my top step now, she looks a bit better.
I've put a container of water under a tree down the paddock for the koalas and other natives.
I put the hose on the dog too, he wasn't the least bit grateful LOL

Good on you for helping all the animals and birds.....It is quite cool here in melbourne but we certainly know what hot days are all about..Putting dishes of water about under trees is great for the birds and garden critters..Putting ice blocks in dog and cat water bowls also helps the water stay cool longer..Even hanging a wet towel not far from the front of a bird cage a with a fan gently blowing against it helps cool the birds down..I have seen wild snakes die in the paddock in search of water that they dont find quick enough so you are certainly doing a great job

Not too bad here in Western Sydney, about 30c. There's a strong breeze, too.
Freezing here in my reception the aircon is very efficient at 23c.

Here in the Alice we have 3 bird baths which have to be filled every day.I get up at 5 & try to be inside by 10 in the mornings but sometimes am still outside at 12 when I decide I have absorbed enough vitiman D and lost enough sweat & go & skulk under the air/con.Today is cooler at 37 much easer to handle.
I remember a wedding at Peake SA in the 1970s when the cousin put on the big sprinklers as the birds were dropping from the bushes from the heat.

Not hot at all. In fact I will probably light the fire when I get home.
I'm wearing shoes and socks, thermal tops most days too. So far I've had 3 summer clothes days this summer.
