Malcolm Fraser?..... I couldn't stand him when he was PM, soooo arrogant !!..... But he improved when he lost that job!

I think he has improved, too, Vintage ...
But, I also have concerns about how his followers in leadership have deteriorated ... Howard, Mr Inept, Malc (although he's got potential), Abbot (Mr Inelectable). Have I forgotten anyone?

Lol!!..... I can't think of anyone else and I know what you mean, politics doesn't attract the "right" kind of person any more!!

i think you actually need to be in office to be a statesman, good or bad. so far, he's proved to be a corporate banker witha bit of polish. he claims to have vision .. believe in this and believes in that.. but takes his seat with the most negative and clueless bunch ever to grace the oppn benches.

Vintage ... I think I was thinking of HEWSON. Do you remember him? Of course, I could also have been thinking of Madame Whosit ... whatshername? Toted as a potential leader and lost all hope after the GST initial debacle.
Still, I can't believe I'm posting this. Malcolm F, enemy #1, the bad guy, the guy who said "life wasn't meant to be easy", the guy the nation laughed at when he lost his pants, the guy who lost to Bob Hawke while I cheered.
And now, I look at Fraser, and I think, what a great guy he is, in comparison.

I remember the name Hewson, but that's about all.....I thought he was THE guy!!....that lost his cred' after the initial GST debacle?
