Kiwi ordered to apologise to entire town
A New Zealand man has been ordered to apologise to an entire town after he went on a drunken rant on the main street, head-butting a window and abusing pensioners.
Greymouth District Court heard Thomas Francis Gillee O’Brien was one of three men in a ute half-parked on the sidewalk in Reefton on New Zealand's South Island on December 30, the New Zealand Herald reports.
O'Brien then got out of the vehicle and swore at an elderly couple, telling them to "get off the footpath".
When another women told him to stop the abuse, he yelled "shut your mouth you gabby tooth s---" before heabutting a window and breaking it.
O'Brien admitted to disorderly behaviour, wilful damage and assault but denied using the abusive language, saying he would never talk like that.
He must now write a letter of apology to be published in the town newspaper, pay $1000 reparation and deliver a trailer load of wood to one of his victims.

My neighbour, who recently turned 65, has been making good use of her $2 train travel. Last weekend she took a day trip up to Newcastle (NSW) with her friend.
They had to change trains midway and as the waited to get off the carriage, a group of teenage boys barged into the carriage without waiting for the passengers to get off first.
When my neighbour's friend protested about the boys' behaviour, he was told to "shuddup you old c..t"
Charming.

At least what he called her is a lot more useful than what I would have (silently) called him.
