I think I've changed my mind about the death penalty

He treated the interview as some sort of book launch for what he hopes is the soon to be released "journal" of his depravity, which will probably be some warped attempt to divert any blame from himself and to paint it as being something other than abuse.

I am glad to see that you are not as intransigent as you thought you were

I know that you believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

I wish they'd bring back Tyburn. It was a great day out, apparently. There was singing, dancing, comedians, stalls selling hot pies and jellied eels, vendors would be selling 'Penny Dreadfuls', and you could hire a box to watch miscreants being hung, drawn, and quartered. Oh joy of joys !

Oh yes, Execution Dock on the north bank of the Thames. Another great venue packed with fun, if you were bored.

I would venture to say that under some circumstances, even the most "compassionate" would take on the role of judge, jury and executioner without hesitation. Some just have not given enough thought as to what they would be prepared and capable of doing.

Either that or they are deluding themselves and are attempting to place themselves on a pedestal so that others would look up to them.

I have said in the past and continue to say that "Unconditional commitment" to any ideal. idea, belief or mantra is an attribute of the unthinking and unaware mind.
