Maybe. (But depending on our level of depression at any given time, it could be NO; YES; DEFINITELY, NOT ON YOUR LIFE.)

HOWEVER, I don't think any of us is a Psychiatrist, psychologist, clinician, etc. and we would have to be very careful with our words Just as those we live with, tread warily.

It may work if we use it as a sounding board, vent-our-spleen site, until proper individual clinical advice is available.

Completely agree. Back in CW days there was a pinned thread dedicated to those of us who suffer from depression - most of my dearest friends come from there - and CS used to have a thread for those whose lives are touched by mental illness. It needs to be talked about openly and honestly.

Maybe we need another thread like that......

Apparently it worked before..........well I know it did, just from reading it, I think it was Darki that started the thread. though i could be wrong.

No, it wasn't Darki who started it.

It would be for support and sharing our experiences. It has worked before but it must always be remembered that this is a public board where nothing posted is private.

No I didn't start the depression thead, but it was running at the same time as the cancer thread, and every so often members would pop back and forth between the threads 'borrowing cups of sugar' etc... just a fun thing.

It was a very good thread and many people here did find relief in just talking about how they felt.  Absolutely no pretense at 'helping' but one of sharing, which so often is what people really need to do.

We could start a sharing thread for those of us who know our own feelings, we could even talk about what has helped each of us, but it would have to be very clear there was absolutely nothing to do with professional help, which is how it was with the cancer thread as well.

It needs someone like Blue Cat to start it off, as I know you have had your fair share of troubles Cat.  How would you feel?

I'm unsure, Darki. If that's what is wanted, I will, but due to having a target on my back, perhaps it might be better for it to be started by someone else. I would hate for such a thread to be used for interpersonal purposes.

Another suggestion, would be to start an Ebay group that is private? Start a thead on the topic and invite people to apply to join the group?

To be honest very few, if any people share anything  much about their private life here now.

Yeah well, it was just a thought, besides myself and Bluecat I dont know of anyone else, but I guess there would be others, your idea Am*3 is good, if it did go ahead, a ebay group would be better, more private....

Another hot day for you purple? We have been lucky here so far (shouldn't speak too soon) South Coast NSW. We haven't had any extreme temps in Jan, last year we had a couple 45+.  The weather has been quite poor really for anyone having a summer holiday around here.
