Image Rights

Dear All,

After trying unsuccessfully to contact ebay directly, I now turn to the ebay community.

My question is - Who owns the rights to the images used to sell an item on ebay?

I would like to use an image in a commercial application but do not want to infringe copyright if it applies.

Any help appreciated.

The person who took the image usually would own the copyright unless taken while under employment of a third party or company such as a photojournalist working for or contracted by a media outlet. However the image could be taken from a rights-free place (very doubt it would be rights managed). That would still mean you would have to pay for it to use yourself especially in a commercial apllication.
