Well, I think that there can be better role models. It's probably a fun toy but a fun toy and role model are different things. Perhaps Barbie raises expectations. It would be good to do a study about early interactions with toys and possible links between conditions like anorexia and bulimia etc..
Your post has touched on something greater than what the title suggests.

Probably not.
If Barbie were an actual women, she would be 5'9โ tall, have a 39โ bust, an 18โ waist, 33โ hips and a size 3 shoe! โ Barbie calls this a โfull figureโ and likes her weight at 110 lbs. โ At 5'9โ tall and weighing 110 lbs, Barbie would have a BMI of 16.24 and fit the weight criteria for anorexia.

I think her taste in boys is peculiar. Ken is rather effeminate and I have wondered if he is; well you know!

Oh, I see, this is about the dolls. Dolls aren't role models, Bob, they're toys. Real women( and men) are role models.
